Inspire … “To breathe life into” …
… That’s how one of my instructors defined it. Now, I have a new respect for the word inspire. I find myself asking, “how do I breath life into others?”

Motivation is so important in any endeavor.
Therefore inspiration is priceless.
Certainly adds an active element into the concept and reminds me that to be inspiring others have to react and relate to what is being done.

This reminds me of the biblical story of God breathing life into a valley of dry bones. I like this imagery – it goes with your point about giving life to those we encounter. Not easy, but worthwhile.
What an interesting thought… Now I’m wondering how I breathe life into others (and do I?). Perhaps I need to think about this more, though I really do try to encourage others whenever I can…like, right now, I want to tell you what an awesome blog you have here and to keep inspiring me with your insights. Does that count as breathing life?
Yep! So “inspired” is having the breath inside you, specifically the breath of a higher power if you are feeling enthusiastic (like Daphne’s comment above). Nice thought, thanks for sharing!
I’ve actually been working on this technique while I work. I usually get too caught up in trying to accomplish instead of enjoying the process. I know I write about this topic, but I’m not perfect either
To make sure I stay present I try to breathe into my work throughout the work day, as much as I can.
If anyone is going to figure that one out JD, it will be you!

It was such a subtle shift, but I definitely have a new appreciation for the word “inspire” now.
As Vered, never disected the word “inspire.” Hope I can do it until I expire, assuming I am doing it now in some small capacity somewhere. Actually, I think I am with music for my daughter. She is very naturally musical and I love sitting with her for her piano practice. And if that kid really wants to pursue music, I will move to NY when she’s a teen so she can attend a Performing Arts school, if that is her dream.
