Specialization is Nature’s Strategy for Winning

“You do not merely want to be considered just the best of the best. You want to be considered the only ones who do what you do.” — Jerry Garcia

The Design of Sources of Insight

“First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.” — Epictetus

Sources of Insight is really driven by one thing – to help you make the most of work and life. One of the things that surprised me about Sources of Insight is how many people have asked me about the design of it. It’s a work in progress, but there is certainly an element of design about it.

3 Take Aways from The Karate Kid

What Executives at Microsoft Taught Me

“Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes.” – Oscar Wilde

A few years back I went on a tour around Microsoft, asking various executives a brief set of questions. I wanted to know what what their day is like, what drives them, and what holds them back. I wanted to know what do they know now that they wish they knew back then, when they first started. Mostly I wanted the benefit of their hind-sight and school of hard-knocks.

Wabi-Sabi – Embrace the Imperfection
