@ Catherina -- Thank you. I spent a lot of time finding the right pictures so I'm glad it pays off. The interactive part does make it fun. I'm still figuring out what's possible with the template, but I would definitely like to have both options available. They each have their pros and cons.

Hi JD,
Awesome work! I love the visual as I am a visual person. It's interactive. I guess, perhaps keeping both options open to cater to both right-brain and left-brain inclined readers.

I have a feeling at some point I may be back to the original. I would like a hybrid as you point out, where I could have a visual intro + the simple pages.

@ Aaron -- Thank you. There really is something to be said for flash cards and visual information nuggets.

@ Jimmy -- Thank you. With the new view, page views are up from ~100 a day, to a ~1,000 a day, so I'll test this experience for a month.

Fantastic new lens on what has long been for me one of the most exciting aspects of Getting Results!

In fact, there are multiple frames to enjoy—courtesy of the dropdown under the title banner: Classic, Flipcard, Magazine, Mosaic, Sidebar, Snapshot, & Timeslide. Nicely done, J.D.!

I like the original one and I love the visual introduction of this version. I am featuring it on the Employee Engagement Network Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/employeeengagementnetwork

@ Jannie -- Thank you.

Now I have to take a better look at visual vs. functional. I think the quick visuals are good for the hop around scenario, but maybe less effective for the stepping into each day.

@ Evan -- Good points on the "finding your way around" and "what you want the pages to do."

The original complaint I got from some folks was that it was missing visual appeal up front. The problem with adding the visual appeal is I think it might take away from the simple browsing experience.

It's that perpetual trade-off between focusing on the sizzle or the steak. I tend to focus on the steak to keep things meaty, but then ignore the sizzle. The problem with that is that many folks need the sizzle first, then steak. I'm playing around with the balance, but it's definitely an art to do both well.

@ Sandra -- Thank you. I think there was something magic about the original in that it was in real time and each day was a new surprise (or at least a surprise to me.)

I'm still surprised when I look back that I made it by carving out 20 minutes a day to write with might. I need to do a few more of these "30 Days of ..." on some key topics. Magic happens.
