Best Time Management Quotes

Time is all you have.  Master your time and you master your life.  Time management is one of those wonderful, timeless topics with so many lessons and so many great mentors.

To get a better view on time management, we can first  “stand on the shoulder’s of giants.”

To do so, let’s take a stroll through some words of wisdom from our sages of the ages.

While organizing my quotes collection, I gained more clarity on the simple, but powerful lessons of time.

I was able to distill the wisdom of the ages into a handful of lessons to help you master time: Time is what you make of it.

You don’t have time, you make it.

It’s your most valuable resource.  Invest time.  Investing in your time is investing in your life.

Don’t dwell on the train you missed.  Catch the next train.

Time changes what’s important. You can’t buy time.  Time is all we have.

Time is a teacher. Time is a judge.  Time is a healer.  Time is a friend.

  1. That is one treasure of time quotes…
I love them all but Golda’s is my favorite for some reason 😉

  2. Hi JD,

Thank you for sharing all those quotes with us. Many I had already known and it was great to discover some news ones too.

I think time management is one of those things that is truly dependent on the person. Some people like to take their time and have things spread out. Then there are others who like to be busy and have a lot to do.

The key, in my mind, depends on what the person wants out of life. If some people have no desire or no goals, then managing time really is not a big deal to them. But if you are a kind of person who wants to learn as much as possible and be the best that you can be, time becomes more precious.

The irony is that in the end we will all run out of time so we have to make the best out of what we have and live life to the fullest. I think people forget that eventually this ride will end and so they drift through life.

Apologies for the long comment…time management is just one of those subjects that has so many levels to it. 🙂

  3. Hi JD – talk about being organised – that in itself is time management. Knowing where you’re going, and finishing today all that you can, leaving tomorrow free to begin again, fresh not with a hangover!

I’m rolling on with my today – thanks for the quotes though .. and the effort you’ve put in ..

    @ Connie

That one made me really pause and reflect.

    @ Karl

Tony has a way of putting into words what we know to be true, and he’s a master of insight.

Yeah, it took longer than I expected. I tried a lot of combinations for organizing it and it was tough to decide what was in and what was out.

    @ Keith

Thank you! I like how deliberate Da Vinci puts it. He cuts right to the chase.

    @ Jen

Thank you! I look forward to your quote collections.

    @ Juliet

    Thank you!

I figured in this case, it was worth a bit of setup. It sounds like it was effective.

    @ Evelyn

Thank you! The single best thing that helped me with time was the combination of letting things go and catching the next train. I had been a slave to my backlog and I worried about the trains I missed. Once I shifted to forward looking and focused on opportunity and how to catch the next train, I was able to drive my time effectively.

  11. Holy cow, that’s a lot of time.

“Time flowing like a river, to the sea. Who knows when we shal meet again. If ever. And it’s gone forever, gone forever…” — Alan Parsons. (That could go under “Passing,” I guess.)

I think time is infinite, actually. An illusion. Only when we put reins on it do we need to worry about time, a by-product of this life we’ve created for ourselves in this society of clocks.

Thank you. While I’ve always liked quotes, I finally realized it’s how we share insight across time and space.
